3 weeks ago, Allan Pitman passed away from cancer. He guided me, and countless others, to our best performances in Ironman Triathlon, and our greatest life lessons. Along with many fellow athletes, I owe my successes to his passion, his skills, and character, as one of the best coaches and mentors to ever connect mind, body and spirit.

I was honoured to speak at Al’s service, & below are some snippets from my eulogy, that I blubbered my way through. As I’ve heard from dear friends, “Grief is love with no place to go”, and that is exactly what I’ve felt. The massive impact he’s had in my life will never be forgotten.
—————

One of my favourite “Al-isms”, a quote that sums up Al’s coaching nicely.

“Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is you’re stupid and make bad decisions.”

You’ll find it on page 27, bolded, in one of Al’s great books, 100 Bedtime Stories for Triathletes, I recommend getting a copy—it’s like having a piece of Al’s wisdom with you, ready to guide you at any moment, or give you the kick in the pants you may need.

Al was always ready with a philosophical helping hand, while the other hand crushed your ego with a big punch of reality. 😄

Al knew I was connected to my emotions, and how my emotions could greatly influence my energy. He taught me how to be aware, how to refocus, and use those emotions to drive my performance.

We won Hawaii after we found my mantra - “love”. That word, “LOVE”, was built together, to keep my mind present and clear of doubts, and it carried me to a world title that is as much his, as mine.

A rock wall, a single stone, an old fig tree on Alii Drive, —everything was a chance for Al to teach us resilience, to remind us of the beauty around us, & that life is great so be grateful.

He was humble, when not having a laugh about his many great accomplishments, or bragging about his athletes.

Friday Night Criterium 🚴🏼 racing. Great workout, great fun, tough racing young guns, great supporters @jaimiellejacobs, Maple & dad.
I’ll be back next Friday night for sure 😎, hopefully my solo breakaway attempts lead to something more productive next time 🤙

Fastest ever 4mins of running I’ve ever done. 😄 Enjoying my broken wrist for @noosatriathlon weekend as best I can with friends, family, celebrities and sporting legends 😎.
The legends relay is all for fun and entertainment, but it’s still pain and adrenaline 😅

Happy Birthday to us ❤️.
So much love for @jai

Happy Birthday to us ❤️.
So much love for @jaimiellejacobs on her Birthday today!
& Jaim spoilt me two days ago on my Birthday 🥳.
It’s been an awesome few days. ❤️

My broken wrist from bike racing is not too much of a hassle, for me, just don’t ask Jaimie about it 😆😬.

And Maple is 9months & going amazing 💪🏼😊. Jaim is five star ⭐️ mum & Maple is shining bright because of her ❤️, I will be indebted for her efforts forever, and I’m happy about that 😊

Coaching Availability October 2023 onwards.
I’m the fittest I’ve ever been with the most energy i have ever had, and I’m weeks away from being 42. I want to coach more of you to have better energy and feel the best you ever had as well.

I’ve been coaching for years, but I haven’t promoted it much previously.

My passion for coaching, both health and performance coaching, stems from my issues I’ve experienced and what I have learnt to improve all symptoms of energy dysfunction.

I write triathlon and running plans customised weekly, and I also consult on issues relating to energy dysfunction. The latter may be in the form of weight issues, injuries, fatigue, brain fog, aches and pains, bloating, skin problems, depression, and not achieving all you want to in life.

My story, is that from experiencing all the above symptoms, to learning about human biology & physiology, I am currently the fittest (& healthiest) I’ve ever been. I’m enjoying exercise (& life) more than ever, being competitive (4th) in a Regional Championship Ironman (8hrs 9mins in Cairns ’23), winning bike races on road and gravel, and now a dad to 8month old Maple, with the most energy I’ve ever had.

I have multiple steps that work for most, & skills to find the individual answers for others, for achieving optimal energy (and therefore optimal health & performance). I’ve been coaching for years, & that means I’ve been learning through problem solving, & with new clients I will continue to learn and improve my knowledge & coaching skills.

If you need more energy, please send me a message.
If you need an exercise plan, please send me a message.

Having just one of the above ‘needs’ qualifies you to work with me, you don’t need both 🙂

I know I can help you, whatever level of energy you currently have, so reach out to me through messages on facebook or Instagram and we can have a chat 👌😀
